Temple Independent School District
Temple ISD: Offering families a GLOBAL education, right here in Central Texas.
Temple ISD embraces a diverse population. Temple ISD emphasizes positive discipline in the classroom, parent involvement, and a creative instructional process designed to meet individual staff and student needs. As a fiscally conservative district, Temple ISD has been able to address decreases in state revenue without laying off staff or cutting vital programs.
Temple High School students have benefitted from the International Baccalaureate IB (SP) curriculum since 1991 and recently, Scott & White Healthcare has become an educational partner in developing an IB Whole School Model Middle Year’s Program (MYP) at the Travis Science Academy beginning Summer 2012. Plans include developing an elementary IB whole-school Primary Years Program (PYP) in 2013.
Temple taxpayers supported a $55 million bond in May 2011. To date, Temple ISD has a master-plan for all campuses and will begin a new elementary school on the Jefferson Elementary School site. Travis Middle School Science Academy, Lamar Middle School and Scott Elementary School will undergo major renovations over the next 2 years with all other campuses receiving minor renovations.
