Lee Peterson joined the Temple Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) as President in December 2005, bringing with him years of experience in economic development. In late 2007, Peterson was directly involved in bringing in two of the most comprehensive projects the City of Temple has seen. In November, Gulf States Toyota announced its intent to build a regional Vehicle Processing Center (VPC), while in December, Panda Energy announced plans for a natural gas-fired power plant. |

Rear Admiral Martin E. Janczak is a native of St. Joseph, MO, and the son of a Navy Chief Petty Officer. He entered the United States Navy in April 1968 and was commissioned an Ensign in March, 1969 upon completion of Officer Candidate School at Newport, RI. While on active duty, he served as Gunnery Officer aboard USS JOHN W. THOMASON (DD-760) and as Weapons Officer aboard USS BAUER (DE-1025), both homeported in San Diego, CA. Lieutenant Janczak then served a shore tour as Naval Operation and Navigation Instructor at Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI. He then attended the Naval Destroyer School Newport RI and was subsequently assigned as Weapons Officer aboard USS ELMER MONTGOMERY (FF-1082), homeported in Norfolk, VA. He then served as Chief Engineer aboard USS HERMITAGE (LSD-34), homeported in Little Creek, VA. |

Jonathan Scott has been with the Temple (TX) Economic Development Corporation since August, 2006. He serves the corporation as the Director of Business Development and is responsible for the management of proposal development and the recruitment of new businesses to Temple. Scott is an integral member of the team that successfully recruited Gulf States Toyota and Panda Energy to Temple in late 2007. These two projects will represent an investment in excess of $700 million and the creation of more than 500 new jobs when the facilities are completed. |

Diane Cates joined the Temple Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) in October 2004. Ms. Cates is the Office Manager/Administrative Assistant responsible for the corporation’s finances including the annual budget and office managerial duties. She is an integral part of the “TEDC Team,” not only with managing all TEDC’s finances, but also with coordinating Ground Breakings, CEO’s/Plant Manager’s quarterly meetings, Annual Business Appreciation Luncheon and special events. |
