Great Courses to Get Your Business Into Gear

The Temple Business Incubator is pleased to announce a partnership with Temple College Business & Community Education and the Central Texas Business Resource Center. These three organizations are joining forces to bring the Temple business community a greater array of training and education.

These will range from short, one evening workshops, to longer courses lasting 12 weeks. The spectrum of subjects will be useful to a wide range of individuals who may be looking to be self employed, entrepreneurs starting a business, or experienced managers wanting to further enhance their skills. Be watching for future announcements as the schedule of classes is developed. Most will be held evenings at the TC Business Training Center/Temple Business Incubator, corner of Main and Adams.   • Business Plan Boot Camp: This one day "boot camp" provides an overview of developing a well-written business plan. Topics include: Business Plan Basics, Writing a Successful Business Plan, Techniques for Promoting Your Business (including budgeting for related costs), and Understanding the Essentials of Financial Reports for Business Planning Purposes. Fee: $140. Monday, May 19, 8:30AM-4:30PM.

  • Fast Trac - New Venture: Take charge of your business with this serious, practical, hands-on class, designed specifically for entrepreneurs in the early stages of developing their business, whether just starting or kicking it into second gear. The 12 week course will lead you to objectively evaluate your concept and plans for moving forward; develop a working knowledge of business fundamentals such as marketing, product/service development, management and financials; begin building an infrastructure for your business operations and processes; explore the risk and success factors in the marketplace; understand how to access the human, financial and business resources; network with entrepreneurs and professionals; respond to changes that can impact your business; and build an actionable business plan. Fee: $399 - includes materials and access to an online library. Mondays, June 9 through August 25, 6:00- 9:00.

  • Parking: Weekday class participants will find free parking in lots generously offered by our neighbors: AT&T's lot at Main & Barton; please park only in the two rows closest to Main Street; 2) First United Methodist Church's 2nd & Barton parking lot, and 3) First Baptist Church's Youth Building lot just north of the Main & Barton intersection.
