Wage & Benefit Survey for Central Texas Explained to Temple Plant ManagersPublished June 27, 2008 Temple, TX -- The Temple Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) held their second 2008 Quarterly Plant Manager's meeting on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 from Noon until 1:30 p.m. at TEDC's office at 1 South First Street. TEDC's Jonathan Scott, Director of Business Development, along with Kimberly Patterson and Scott McKay of Texas Workforce Solutions presented the results from a workforce survey and analysis conducted by Lubbock BCD, Inc., including Bell, Coryell, and Lampasas counties, for the Central Texas Economic Corridor. A higher level view shows that the wages and benefits in these counties are in line with national averages relative to the cost of living for this area. Additionally, out of the companies surveyed, benefits offered by the employers are generally higher than the national average. Texas Workforce Solutions presented their Work in Texas website (www.workintexas.com), an employer as well as employee friendly website. Easy manipulation tools and selection categories enable both parties to drill down to the finest detail in their job posting or job search. TEDC conducts the Quarterly Plant Manger's meetings to provide a forum for our industrial sector to get to know one another better, share ideas and gain knowledge with quality programs whose topics were chosen by them. This four-time-per-year event is one of the many ways that the TEDC strives to support business expansion and retention in Temple.
