TEMPLE, Texas - Temple has been selected as the site for a new, state-of-the-art lubricating oil and engine coolant manufacturing and distribution center, Northland Products Company announced today. The 20,000-square-foot center will be built on a 10.5-acre, rail-served site in Temple's Rail Park at Central pointe, and will be an extension of the Northland Products headquarters in Waterloo, Iowa.

Northland Products serves original equipment manufacturers, industrial manufacturers, on- and off-highway trucking and heavy-equipment fleets, and automotive service providers.

"Temple welcomes Northland as a company bringing diversity to the industry in Temple with its international ties," Lee Peterson, president of the Temple Economic Development Corporation (TEDC), said. "Northland will invest $2.5 million in real property fixtures and improvements. Northland Products Company will also have the opportunity to request assistance with workforce assessments and training. If granted it will be provided by Texas Workforce Solutions and Temple College."

Eric Petersen, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Northland Products, said the Temple site was selected because of its excellent location and access to railroads and highways, but especially because of the area's highly skilled workforce. The Northland Products location in Temple will provide quality jobs for skilled employees.

"The combination of a progressive and business-friendly community, the excellent transportation infrastructure and the skilled American workforce are key factors in our decision to locate in Temple," Petersen said. "The TEDC and the City of Temple have been extremely helpful in assisting Northland to reach this decision, and we look forward to becoming a part of the Temple Community."

Northland Products operates manufacturing and technical service sites in Waterloo, Iowa, and Toronto, Canada, providing lubricating oils, engine coolants and associated value-added services to a diverse customer base throughout North America.
